So I shopped and found the perfect solution in my new Dell XPS 8500 from an excellent seller on EBay. Don't kid yourself though because Windows 8 is the first really different OS from Microsoft in years. Transfer of my contacts, documents and programs from my old machine was not easy. Windows Easy Transfer in XP is not compatible with Win8. You have to download the Win8 version to the old machine to make it work.
